My office has gone mobile, have you ?

A few months ago, my main desktop computer, with lots of accessories, and I was locked in an office. I still have my office, but the technical part has become extremely mobile .
In the past month I have been phasing out my desktop computer, as it has virtually slitis up and stopped working properly. It was expected, as it has at least eight years old. The drives have spun around several times around the world by now.
Now I have an office that fits in a small bag. As a professional blogger, I have the advantage to be able to work just anywhere, anytime. Today, my office of a notebook PC, mobile internet, mobile phone and a notebook (yes, I still prefer to sketch on paper, although I have no Undo function on my ink pens). And my reading glasses.

Sometimes I stay up and be fascinated by how technology has developed. It's actually incredibly coolto be so mobile as I am. A typical bag holds everything I need to do my job. With mobile broadband, I can connect to me anywhere, and with a VPN client I connect easily to the servers I need to work toward.
I am currently on paternity leave at half-time with a seven-month-old son, and when I need to work up with some deadlines, I take the help of parents and in-laws (my wife works). So I've spent working at a SAKRET in a storage room, on a sofa with a cat roused, in an armchair in front of a fire, in bed plus a sleeping son, rates and at a coffee shop somewhere.
To make this work, there are some things to consider. The mobile broadband should be stable, and that Telenor has been for me. However, I am aware that it is not the best choice, but because I have my regular mobile here I got the price down properly.
Your computer should be easy and smooth. I have two laptops that I switch between. First, an ultraportable laptop in the normal size, and also a mini-computer in the form of an Asus Eee PC 901Go. The latter I choose if I pack light and if I do not have to write long texts - the keyboard is very small.
Another important point is that the battery life must be long in the computers. Asus gives me 6-8 hours working on one charge, and the second - a Lenovo U350, for the moment - is about six hours too. It is not always there is wall charger and it does not work to have a computer that quit after two hours.
The downside of laptops is that the ergonomics are rubbish. The screen sits too low to be useful for the neck. The Home Office, I have the computer connected to a conventional screen, but otherwise you may see to be working shorter workouts and move there between. A real mouse is also a must to avoid the strenuous pad.
I know I am fortunate to have this opportunity, and I exploit it fully. It is far from anyone who can do their job in peace and quiet in front of a fireplace. I lack the speed of our 100 Mbit fiber gives the home, but with today's developments in mobile broadband, I will soon be able to refuel home testing program much faster.
I think there are many others who also could do their office mobile. Imagine how much it had saved the money and the environment, a large proportion of the labor market did not have to drive to work every day but could work anywhere! The offices had been made smaller, it had come from 8-17 passports that so many detest, and this is not really a big step to take.
It needed to make your mobile is a laptop, mobile broadband and discipline.

How to upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7

Windows 7 is the operating system you'll get if you're still using Windows XP. But how do you do to upgrade from XP to Windows 7 ? There you will learn in this easy guide!
For those of you running Windows Vista, you can buy upgrades from Vista to Windows 7 at a lower price than what Windows 7 will cost the full version.Unfortunately, there are no upgrades fromXP to the new Windows 7 .
I've talked to Microsoft about this, and they explained that the reason is that the systems differ so widely that there had been major problems. It had simply been a lot of technical problems that make an upgrade tool that makes the XP to Windows 7.
This does not mean that it is particularly difficult to upgrade your computer from Windows XP to the new Windows 7. However, this means you have to do a clean install. That means your programs, settings and all that will disappear from the operating system.

Do a single backup

What will not disappear, your files. This installer will save in a folder called windows old. This assumes of course that you do not format the hard disk during the installation process. Should you do everything on your hard disk will disappear before the installation of Windows 7 starts.
Whatever you do, do take a big backup of all your important files before you begin installation. A good tip is to use the Microsoft software Windows Easy Transfer (Windows Easy Transfer Wizard ). It is a free application that is used to move files from a Windows installation to another.
Basically it's about making a backup of your important files , and then will help you to restore these files when you are finished with your installation of Windows 7. In Vista, the Windows Easy Transfer, but if you are running XP you need to download software from Microsoft's website. You can backup to CD / DVDs, USB flash drive or external hard drive.

Starta installations

Add in the installation disc for Windows 7 and restart the computer, so it boots from the disc. Then the installer will automatically set off again. I have over the years drove all the different versions of the installer for Windows, and I can certainly say that Windows 7 is the best so far.
It is very easy to install Windows 7 and also it does not take long at all. You need to answer some simple questions during the process, such as typing in your username and the like. This need hardly be explained - as simple as that. When installation is complete, restart your computer and you enter the operating system.
On the computers I have installed Windows 7, I have only encountered problems once and that was it not found any drivers for the very old sound card that was sitting in one of the computers. This was solved simply by visiting the computer manufacturer's support site, where I located and downloaded the drivers for Windows XP - it was the latest version, as it has said was an old sound card. These drivers worked without any problems.

Restore your backup

Once you are inside the Windows 7, you can restore your backup of your important files. Have you used Windows Easy Transfer , start by opening the Start menu and in the search field type "file transfer". The tool will show up in search results.

Just like when you used the program the first time, simply click through the wizard to restore your data.

Welcome to Windows 7!

Now everything will be clear and you have Windows 7 instead of the old utgågna XP! Of course it will feel strange at first, but I can guarantee that you will enjoy after trying it for a while. Windows 7 is actually really good , especially when compared to Vista - which I really did not like.
The operating system is fast and economical and rolls on as good as xp. In all cases, it has done that for me, and when I installed it on really old and slow computers.

Free Windows 7 - inte free

With the launch of Windows 7, Microsoft began a program called the Technical Guarantee. This means that some users who recently bought computers with Vista installed, can get a free update of Windows 7. But the term free seems to be diffuse ...

If your newly purchased computer is covered by the Technical Guarantee is something that must be stated in the papers. Is the case, you can contact your computer manufacturer to get your free update to Windows 7. The distribution functions so that Microsoft provides computer manufacturers free versions of Windows 7, which they then give to the users who want to update for free. Several computer manufacturers have in turn left out this work to any other company.

The upgrade to Windows 7 is said to be free , but now that many users have begun to exploit Technical Guarantee has shown that it is not at all free. Businesses do is for the one shipping cost for installation discs that sometimes exceed common sense.
HP assumes, for example, SEK 300 for sending out the upgrade. When you look around the manufacturers' websites for Technical Guarantee, it is usually very unclear how much it costs.Sometimes it says that this is shipping cost, and sometimes to be undefined handling costs, which push up the price tag properly.
PCOnline have been in contact with several computer consumers who have expressed their annoyance over the management of Technical Guarantee has been shot. A reader tells how he was promised a free upgrade, just to get a cost of approximately SEK 300:
- I bought an HP computer for almost a month ago. It had Vista as the OS, but I was promised "free" upgrade to Windows 7 in that I paid an unspecified smaller amount of production cost and postage. Well, mother! Postage cost must have gone sky high and the pressing is done manually, perhaps by the high-paying Germans because I needed the 300 bucks for the "free" upgrade.
It's not just prices that complaints have been raised about. Although management has in places been complicated , according to the users who have been in touch.
- On HP's Swedish website would populate the new computer's serial and product number. I filled in the information correctly. Several times. But each time was met by an angry received a message in red on the 'part number is incorrect ". I emailed the Arvato Digital Services, responsible for the mailing. After a week or belonged to a Seyyid of themselves and graciously explained that he did not understand Swedish - probably because he sits on a call center in India - and wanted us to correspond in English.
- It was the product number that was haunted. The label on the computer, it is written about as "VG123BB-WWU. But see the dash would not be! The hyphen should be replaced with number "#" symbol. What stage was I to know? Arvato also wanted to have a scanned or faxed copy of your receipt.
Another reader who contacted us took up the problem that distributors only take payment by card , which sends to it for those who do not have credit card or who do not want to pay by credit card on the Internet because of security reasons.
- The biggest problem is that you only accept MasterCard or Visa as payment. I have none of these and can not get anything because I have poor credit. This means that I have purchased a product with the promise of free upgrade that I can not access.
Is it more readers who have views on the subject, please feel free contact us by e-mail or leave a comment below.

MSI U210, mini computer with AMD processor

With MSI U210 have the computer manufacturer started to move away from the Intel Atom processor for mini-computers and is focusing on AMD Athlon Neo. U210 is an interesting choice for those who want a little extra performance and a large 12.1-inch screen on your mini computer.

The trend among netbooks at the moment, is that you start to build on them and walk away from the old standard specifications with the Intel Atom processor and Intel's weak graphics chips. With MSI U210 presents an interesting alternative manufacturer.
U210 has a processor of type AMD Athlon Neo at 1.6 GHz, which outperforms an Intel Atom 1.6 GHz. Moreover, the U210 has 2 GB of internal memory and a hard disk of 250 GB - compared with the usual 1 GB and 160 GB. Graphics circuitry consists of ATI Radeon X1250, And there's HDMI output.

The Asus Eee PC 901 battery is the 6-cell, and can provide you with a working time of about four hours. It's pretty bad when compared to what other mini computers with the same laptop batteries capacity can handle. But then you have to keep in mind that it is not free to have better performance.
As operating system we are set to Windows 7, Although the purchaser of the computer today, the Windows Vista and the ability to upgrade when Windows 7 will. The price tag? Unknown in Sweden, but converted from U.S. dollar stands at 3000 SEK. I can probably guarantee that it will cost considerably in Sweden.
MSI are also underway with another mini-computer: MSI U150, Which seems very interesting. It should be really fast!
